It is almost a year since the first Solvency II (SII) public reporting for insurers with a 31 December year-end took place. The purpose of public disclosures under the SII regime is to provide information on insurers’ solvency to stakeholders in order to help promote an environment of informed market discipline. European Union (EU) legislation determines the content and format of these disclosures.
